Minister GATABAZI pays courtesy visit to LODA

Today on 12th May 2021, Hon. GATABAZI Jean Marie Vianney, Minister of Local Government, has paid courtesy visit to the Local Administrative Entities Development Agency (LODA).  He was warmly welcomed by the Director General, Mrs. NYINAWAGAGA Claudine who wished him success in undertaking his new responsibilities assigned to him by His Excellence President Paul Kagame.

After the Minister’s tour across LODA staff respective offices, Mrs. NYINAWAGAGA the Director General made a brief presentation on the mission assigned to LODA which pivots around local development planning and social protection activities. She acknowledged and requested for the Minister’s continuous support towards LODA stakeholders at both Central and Local Government levels in a bid to successfully implement this noble mandate.

Speaking to LODA staff, Minister Gatabazi requested every member to always act towards citizen centered development and service delivery, and make citizens free from extreme poverty following the Government commitment in that regard. He requested LODA to rethink of Vision 2020 Umurenge Programme (VUP) and its impact in people’s livelihoods, and set news goals towards sustainable graduation and inclusive development. Minister Gatabazi reiterated the necessity of continuous staff empowerment, deployment, monitoring and evaluation as well as decision making for an efficient and effective fulfillment of their responsibilities.

The today visit features on the Minister’s agenda to be acquainted with MINALOC affiliated agencies since his appointment to Cabinet by HE President Paul Kagame in March 2021.
