Today on 12th September 2018 at MINALOC HQs, a press conference was held to share the payment status of CBHI (Community Based Health Insurance) (Mutuelles de Santé) premiums and discuss underlying challenges faced by beneficiaries. Speaking to the press, Hon. Alivera MUKABARAMBA, State Minister in charge of Social Affairs and Social protection, declared: “As of today, digital payment coverage has reached 69% of CBHI beneficiaries. To add more on efforts made so far in terms of mobilization, we are launching a massive campaign on CBHI from tomorrow 13th up to 30th September 2018 in Nyabirasi Sector, Rutsiro District. We wish you to help us sensitize the population on this health sensitive commitment so that we reach the highest target” Alivera said.
From February 2018, through the newly established IT system, mobile phone users can execute payment of CBHI contributions by pressing *909# and get Ubudehe information of their household members. From there they can proceed with payment through MobiCash, Mobile Money, Tigo Cash/ Airtel Money, Umurenge SACCOs and Irembo platforms. This IT system has been put in place thanks to joint efforts by LODA, RSSB, NIDA & Rwanda Online Platform Ltd (Irembo).
